DSHS - Nurse Delegation Special Focus on Diabetes
The Nurse Delegation Special Focus on Diabetes Training allows nursing assistants and home care aides working in certain settings to accept and perform nurse delegated tasks such as the administration insulin and blood glucose testing.
A registered nurse must teach and supervise you to make sure you are competent to administer insulin safely before you can accept nurse delegated insulin injection tasks.
*This course requires Nurse Delegation Core as a prerequisite.*

About This Course:
You must have a current nurse delegation core certificate completed.
This class is self-study.
The student will work at their own pace to complete all course material and exercises in the course workbook.
Students must schedule an exam date at the time of registration by entering the date during the checkout process.
You may reschedule 1 time for free.
You must show up on the test date with the completed workbook and a valid photo ID for your test.
Testing is done in person at a set time and at a mutually agreed location.
A 3 hour certificate will be awarded upon scoring 90% or above on the exam.
This course is designed for the following LTC workers:
Home care aides (HCAs)
Registered or certified Nursing assistants (NACs/NARs)
Certified Nurse Delegators (Completed Nurse Delegation Core Training)
Need this additional, required training to administer insulin injections under nurse delegation.
